Gary Bessette, MD

Dr. Bessette graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Dartmouth Medical School.  He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Dartmouth and went on to a Fellowship in Sports Medicine.  He subsequently served as a team physician for the University of  Minnesota Division 1 athletic teams.  Dr. Bessette has published papers in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals, and has presented the results of his research at national meetings.  In addition to his time on the faculty at the University of Minnesota, he has held teaching faculty positions at Dartmouth Medical School and the University of Rochester.  Dr. Bessette is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Building on this background of teaching, Dr. Bessette takes time with his patients to insure that they understand their diagnosis and treatment options so that they can make informed choices in their care.  As a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, he has extensive experience in the most up-to-date arthroscopic surgical techniques of the knee and shoulder.

In his leisure time Dr. Bessette enjoys woodworking and sailing.
