Rola Rashid, MD
Dr. Rashid seemed destined to be in the medical field. She was born in Rochester, NY to a father who is a physician and a mother who is a nurse.
Dr. Rashid completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester in 1993. She went to medical school at Upstate Medical University at Syracuse, finishing in 1997. Dr. Rashid found the Orthopaedics program at the University of Iowa to be exceptional, and decided to do her residency there. She found the people and her time there, very rewarding. Upon her return to Rochester, Dr. Rashid was fortunate to be welcomed at Rochester Community Orthopaedics (RCO) by Dr. Timothy Clader, Dr. David Carrier and Dr. Gary Bessette. She has been practicing at Rochester Community Orthopaedics since 2002.
Dr. Rashid is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is affiliated with Rochester General Hospital. She performs surgeries there and at the Linden Oaks Surgery Center. Dr. Rashid takes pride in getting to know her patients. Wanting to personally understand the patient is the reason she and the partners at RCO do not use Physician’s Assistants. The patient is evaluated, treatment options are discussed and questions are answered. She enjoys taking care of a diverse variety of orthopaedic conditions ranging from minor hand surgery to total joint reconstruction. The majority of her surgical practice includes taking care of fractures, arthroscopy, rotator cuff repairs and total hip and knee replacements.
In off time, Dr. Rashid enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, gardening and keeping active – running, biking, swimming, boating, downhill skiing and waterskiing.
