Steven Posnick, MD
Dr. Steven Posnick, a native of Webster, New York, joins Rochester Community Orthopaedics with over two decades of experience in orthopedics and sports medicines. He has a special interest in arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder and knee as well as joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Posnick is board-certified in both orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine. He graduated from St. Lawrence University with honors in chemistry. He received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine under the auspices of the Army health professions scholarship program. He completed his residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center/Texas Tech. He received his fellowship training at the University of Rochester in orthopaedic sports medicine.
Dr. Posnick has performed over 25 years of military service including 13 years active duty service with the US Army as a physician and paratrooper. Presently, he is a Captain in the US Navy Reserves caring for Sailors and Marines.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified in orthopaedic surgery with subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. He is a member of the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is proficient in Thai and Russian languages. In his free time, Dr. Posnick enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities, especially cross-country skiing, hiking and kayaking.
Dr. Posnick performs surgeries at Rochester General Hospital and at Rochester Ambulatory Surgery Center. He is accepting new and old patients. We are happy to welcome him to our practice.
